This page explains what Solonte does with personal data: when we email a company, when you write to us, when we book a meeting for a client, and when you visit this site. It is written in plain English. Solonte is a trading name of Ao, s. r. o., a company in Slovakia (EU), so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to us wherever you are. For anything on this page, write to jacob@solonte.com.
1. Who we are
Ao, s. r. o., trading as Solonte. Registered office: Vrbovská cesta 2509/15, 921 01 Piešťany, Slovakia. Company ID (IČO): 54 185 165. Registered in the Commercial Register of the District Court Trnava, section Sro, insert no. 50276/T. We are the "controller" of the data described here, which means we decide what it is used for. Contact for all data questions: Jakub Petráš (Jacob Petras), jacob@solonte.com. We have not appointed a data protection officer; the law does not require one for a business of our size and kind.
2. If we emailed you about our service
We write to people in a business role at companies we think could use our service. Here is what that involves.
What we hold about you
Your name, your job title, your work email address, your company's name and website, your city and state, and sometimes a link to your public professional profile or to a public post, article or news item we mentioned in the email. Nothing private: no personal email addresses, no personal phone numbers, no photos, no notes about you as a person.
Where it came from
Public sources: your company's website, your public professional profile (for example on LinkedIn), public directories, press and news, and business contact databases such as Hunter or Apollo, which we use to find or check a work email address.
Why, and on what legal basis
To tell you about our outreach service in a short series of emails (a first note and a few follow-ups, never more), and to answer if you reply. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in offering a business service to businesses (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We have weighed that interest against yours: we only write to people in a business role, at a work address, about their work, in a short message that says plainly who we are and how to stop. We do not profile you and we do not make automated decisions about you.
How to stop
Reply "stop" or email jacob@solonte.com. We stop the same day; US law allows 10 business days, and we do not use them. Under GDPR Article 21(2) your objection to direct marketing is absolute: we must stop, with no exceptions. Your email address then stays on our do-not-contact list, which exists only so we never write to you again.
3. If you write to us, or become a client
If you email us, or send a message through the form on our home page, we keep the correspondence for as long as the conversation is live and for 12 months after. If you become a client, we hold your business contact details, our agreement, the criteria we write together, the reports we send you, and the invoices. The legal basis is the contract between us (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and, for invoices and accounting records, our legal obligations under Slovak law (Article 6(1)(c)).
4. Meetings we book for clients
When someone we contacted on behalf of a client agrees to a meeting, we pass that person's business contact details and a short written brief to that client, so the meeting can take place. From that point the client is responsible for its own use of the data. Our client agreement requires every client to use it only for that business relationship, never to resell it, and to honor opt-outs. We never sell contact lists, to clients or to anyone else.
5. Who else sees data
Only the companies whose tools we use to run the service, and only as far as the tool needs it:
- Google Workspace: email and documents.
- A CRM (customer relationship management tool, currently HubSpot): keeping track of who we wrote to and what they answered.
- Business contact data providers (Hunter, Apollo): finding and checking work email addresses.
- Email sending and warm-up tools, when we use them for a client campaign.
- Netlify: hosts this website and handles the contact form. A submission is stored in our Netlify account and emailed to us; we delete it from Netlify once it is answered.
Some of these companies store data in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, and each provider is bound by a data processing agreement before we use it. We do not share data with anyone else unless the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
| Situation | Kept for |
|---|---|
| We emailed you and you did not reply | 6 months after our last email, then deleted |
| You replied (yes or no) | 12 months after our last exchange, then deleted |
| You agreed to a meeting with a client | The length of our agreement with that client plus 12 months, as proof of our work, then deleted on our side |
| You asked us to stop | Your email address and the date stay on the do-not-contact list permanently, so we never write to you again |
| Client agreements and invoices | 10 years, as Slovak accounting law requires |
7. Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, to give it to you in a usable format, and to stop using it for direct marketing. Write to jacob@solonte.com; we answer within one month, usually much sooner, and we do not charge for it.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Slovak data protection authority: Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky (Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic), Galvaniho 7/B, 821 04 Bratislava, Slovakia, or to the data protection authority in your own country. We would rather hear from you first and fix it.
If you are in the United States, our emails also follow the CAN-SPAM Act: a truthful sender and subject line, our postal address in every email, and a working way to opt out.
8. This website
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no embedded fonts from third parties. The contact form on the home page sends your email address, the website you may add, and your message to us as one email; the hosting provider, Netlify, keeps a copy in our account until we delete it, which we do once the message is answered. Apart from that, the only data that moves is what the host records in standard server logs when a page is requested (IP address, time, page, browser type). The host keeps them for security for a limited period, weeks rather than months, and then deletes them. We do not use them for anything else.
9. Changes
If we change how we handle data, we update this page and the date at the top. We do not notify people individually of changes to this page.
